Bio
Max Burger was raised in New York City and graduated from NYU and the Medical School of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in Dublin. After an internship in Toronto, he completed a residency in Family Medicine in Montclair, NJ. He logged about 100,000 words of patient histories and physicals in his thirty-eight years practicing medicine. Inspired or, perhaps, undeterred by his previous writing, he retired to write novels, short stories, plays, and essays, unfettered by reality.
Rogue Phoenix Press published his novel Even In Death in December 2023, a mystery/thriller of a 1970s Dublin pathologist searching for a stolen body.
Max was born in a DP camp in Germany, the son of Holocaust survivors. He has completed another novel, My Father's Father, a Holocaust Family Saga, the first chapter published in October 2023 in Embark, a literary magazine and Lost and Found,another excerpt published by jewishfiction.com in September 2024. He has published personal interest stories in JAMA, AMA News, and Medical Economics.
